Mosaic Mirror (Fall 2023 HandWorks Festival)

Making a stained glass mosaic mirror is an opportunity to create with a unique hands-on medium. It’s like coloring with stained glass!
If you've ever seen a piece of artwork where the picture is comprised of glass or clay tiles, stones, gems, sea glass, driftwood, or something you picked up on a walk in the woods, for example, think white birch bark, feathers, pine cones, etc. then you've seen a mosaic. Participants will learn how to cut, grind and arrange ArtWaves extensive supply of glass, tiles, natural materials, and colorful pottery bits to create whatever mosaic pattern or image you like. We will work with a round or rectangular mirror with a wood backing.
All materials and instruction are provided, just bring your imagination. Choose to come to one class or both! You are welcome to bring objects as suggested above to enhance your one of a kind mirror!
