ArtWaves Covid Mask Protocol

Updated November 2022

Given that COVID rates are on the rise and that many more people are vaccinated/boosted, ArtWaves is updating its mask protocol as follows:

  1. We encourage people to mask if they feel that this is safer for them. Most classes/workshops will be mask optional. We ask that everyone respect others’ preferences for masking/not masking.

  2. We require people to mask if the instructor of the class/workshop asks this of participants. We will note this on the program description and expect that people who choose to take the class/workshop will wear a mask. Those refusing to mask when asked by the instructor will be asked to leave without refund/credit.

  3. If you are coughing or sick, please do not come to class! We will issue you a credit that you can use toward another class/workshop at ArtWaves.

    • If the CDC strongly recommends masking indoors due to alarming COVID rates in our area, ArtWaves will require everyone to mask. This will be stated in class descriptions which may be updated close to the date of the class/workshop.

    • If you do not want to mask and the class/workshop was originally mask optional, you can ask for a credit to use for another class/workshop and we will try to fill the spot so someone else can participate.

ArtWaves will have masks on hand for people to use. ArtWaves will also continue working to update air circulation and air quality in indoor spaces but this is no substitute for masking. Making art at ArtWaves (fine art, craft, dance) during the winter months means that people are in close proximity for extended periods indoors. Thank you for your efforts in keeping yourself and others healthy.

The ArtWaves Board welcomes Nikki Moser, our new Executive Director.
