Oil Painting Weekend Workshop with Guest Artist - Colin Page - The first of five fabulous guest artists at ArtWaves in 2022!

Dory by Colin Page

Over two days Colin will cover how to think about composition and design in a painting, along with paint handling, and how to get the most out color in your oil paintings. Each session will start with a discussion of painting fundamentals and a quick demo to explain those ideas visually. This is followed with time for students to work on their own paintings while Colin offers individual attention and critique. The class is a fun supportive atmosphere to learn new ways to approach your paintings and develop how you see. If weather permits, we will work outdoors painting the landscape on site, otherwise we will work in the studio painting from life.

Saturday April 30th, 2022, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm

and

Sunday May 1st, 2022, from 9:00am to 1:00pm

$350 ($340 for members)

This workshop is best suited for artists with experience painting with oils.

Saturday class runs 1-5pm, after which Colin will stay to paint into sunset, talking through his process. You are welcome to stay and watch, or paint alongside to wind down after class.

Sunday class is 9am-1pm, followed by a critique and wrap up of ideas covered over the weekend.

Bring your oil painting supplies.
