Katie Hodgkins
Executive and Creative Director

Katie joined ArtWaves as the Executive Director in October, 2024. Originally from Chicago, Katie came to Maine to study at College of the Atlantic and graduated with the class of 2016. Since then she has worked locally for The Jackson Laboratory and College of the Atlantic. She has extensive experience in event coordination, program development, and organizational leadership and a passion for organizing and optimizing. Her fine art background is in oil painting (lots of birds and barnacles). Katie lives in Ellsworth with her husband Corey and their two young boys.

Will Erlanson
Assistant Director

Will Erlanson is a creative and marketing professional with over eight years of experience in brand development, digital strategy, and community engagement. He joined ArtWaves in early 2025, bringing a dynamic blend of artistic insight and technical expertise to the organization. An active artist specializing in integrated commercial campaigns, and brand experiences, Will has collaborated on projects with organizations such as Liquid Death, OpenAI, Acadia National Park and the Penobscot River Educational Partnership (P.R.E.P), reflecting his passion for the intersection of technology, community, and creativity.

Mariah Reading
Visual Arts Instructor

Bangor native and eco-artist Mariah Reading will be joining the team in May, 2025 as our first ever staff visual arts instructor. She has a bachelor in arts from Bowdoin College and has been selected as an Artist-in-Residence at multiple national parks including Acadia, Denali, Zion, and Guadalupe Mountains National Park. Her personal art practice centers around creating impressionist paintings on trash in order to depict the harms of pollution and climate change. Mariah will be developing programming and teaching classes, workshops, and community events for adults and children. She is a founding member of the local cold water dipping group, Cold Tits Warm Hearts, loves paddling and hiking.
