Stars Wars Day

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!

This will be a special workshop just for Star Wars Day! Cyanotype, also call sun-printing, is an early photographic process that produces blue and white prints. It is usually done in bright sunlight, but can also produce beautiful prints on cloudy days, and can be done indoors with a specialized UV light. You’ll have a chance to try both sunlight and artificial light.

There will be a lot of movement between indoor and outdoor workstations - if you have any mobility challenges please let us know so we can accommodate you.

While this workshop is an introduction to cyanotype, all levels of experience are welcome to come and experiment. All ages welcome, children under 14 must be with an adult.

Jennifer Booher’s cyanotype work plays with seasonal changes and the optical properties of light.  She has been a Resident Artist with Acadia National Park since 2015, and Artist-in-Residence with the Mount Desert Island Historical Society since 2018. Ms. Booher is the recipient of grants from the Maine Arts Commission, the Puffin Foundation and the Kindling Fund.
