Brief Biography

I am a retired art teacher living year round in Southwest Harbor. I am greatly influenced by my Maine surroundings. I enjoy capturing the light and colors of different times and moods of the day in my paintings of landscapes, seascapes, and harbor activities.

I have a BS from University of RI (1972) and MAE from Rhode Island School of Design (1989). In 1996 I received a fellowship from NEH to study “The Major Paintings of Winslow Homer” at Syracuse University. I studied watercolor for 4 years with John Loughlin of Lincoln, RI and for 13 years with Betty Lou Schlemm of Rockport, MA.  Most recently I have taken classes with Judy Taylor.
